The World Needs Women, But What Do Women Need? How SHE Came to Be. The Origin Story.

How SHE Came to Be

SHE is my passion project. It is the program that was created because it is the program that I needed….that I still need.

I am a female entrepreneur who has spent my career walking alongside founders, entrepreneurs, executives, and emerging leaders.

I am also a divorcee, a primary breadwinner, a mother of a 16-year-old daughter, a 13-year-old son, 2 dogs, and 1 cat, a friend, a board member, a connecter of humans, a therapy go-er, and a community member.

I am not a woman who believes that you can have it all.

In a lifetime? Yes…..Maybe.

In one season of life? In one moment in time? <insert hysterical laughter> Who are you kidding?!?!?

In the spirit of full transparency, here are some things that I am NOT – a lawn mower, a bagged lunch packer, a fixer of sinks, a family dinner on the table at six-pm-er, a landscaper, a bathroom cleaner.

I kill houseplants. All of them. Reliably. There is dog hair EVERYWHERE in my house – no matter what I do. I don’t fully understand the rules of the sports that my children play. I often don’t read school newsletters.

My dog destroyed all my couch cushions, and I didn’t buy new ones for almost a year. Now, the new couch cushions are stored in big laundry baskets, and my children have to check them out like library books if they want to watch TV in the living room.

BUT I have it on good authority that I look pretty put together to the outside world. Confident, even. I strategize and give advice for A LIVING, and I am very, very good at it.

The Power of Community

I have worked with and alongside a lot of women in a lot of different spaces – brilliant, impressive, spectacular women – and guess what? We all feel like we are failing all the time. On our best days, we are almost dropping three different balls.

When we turn our attention in one direction, something else suffers. Over and over again. All the time. And yet, we get shit done. We are, in fact, crushing it.

But no matter how evolved we are….how much therapy we have done…..no matter how skilled we are at coaching the little voice in our head to be kind to us……

Nothing is as healing as being in community with other high-achieving, brilliant women.

Yes, we need to be our own hype woman, but it is freaking amazing to be surrounded by hype women.

Early in my career, it was not unusual to be one of only a couple of women in the room. It is getting better – slowly…..ever so slowly.

But the truth is that if we want a nourishing community, we must seek it out.

SHE exists because it is the content and community I and the women around me need but can’t easily find.

You can’t talk about failure without talking about identity.

All humans, not just women, experience the world through the lens of their identity and are nourished when they are seen.

Who is SHE for?

  • SHE was created for the women who, by all objective measures, are – crushing life and living the dream.
  • SHE is for all of us who are grinding in the existing system and succeeding, but still feel……tired, lost, alone, overwhelmed, burned out, and disconnected from ourselves.
  • SHE is for those of us who want to reach our highest potential and do NOT believe that it should require being MORE LIKE A MAN.
  • SHE is for the women who have dedicated themselves to growth. They have read the books. Listened to the podcasts. Given themselves (and others) the pep talks. Are actively DO-ing the work…….and are still seeking more….not because there is a magic bullet, but because there is always more.
  • SHE is for all of the women that have a feeling somewhere deep inside of them that whispers, “You are more than this.”

See you there!

XO,
Anna
